Golden Day for India with Double Gold in 2016 WC
Kuala Lumpur, (05-Mar-2016)
It was a Golden day for India as both Indian Girls and Boys brought home Gold Medal in their respective groups. Indian Girls beat Luxemburg 3-1 in Final of Second Division of their group G. Indian Boys won Final against Brazil 3-2 to clinch the Gold in their group F.


On this fantastic day, Mouma Das gave India required best start by winning 1st match with Danielle Konsbruck 3-0. In second Manika too win her match. But K. Shamini lost first time in tournament to Sarah De Nutte. Still India was leading 2-1. Then Manika played her final match in her reverse Single and defeated Danielle Konsbruck 3-0 to bring home the Gold.

Mouma Das beat Daniella Konsbruck 3-0 (11-1, 11-4, 13-11)
Manika beat Tessy Gonderinger 3-1 (11-6, 11-2, 9-11, 13-11)
K. Shamini lost to Sarah De Nutte 0-3 (4-11, 9-11, 9-11)
Manika Batra beat Daniella Konsbruck 3-0 (11-5, 11-4, 11-8)

Thin within 24 hours, Men too played thier Final match with Brazil with great courage and won the same with 3-2 score. Here Soumyajit Ghosh lost first match and India was behind from start. Then Harmeet leveled score by winning his match. But again Amalraj lost third match though he was ahead 2-1 at one stage. Then India was trailing 1-2 and it was a tough cituation. But then Soumyajit raised his game at right time and won fourth match 3-0. Now the scores was 2-2. But India's confidence was high as they had come back in the Finals. Harmeet played crucial role. In the third game after lagging behind 6-9, he won the game with 15-13 score. Finally closed the match with easy fourth game and thus India won their another Gold on same day.

Harmeet Desai beat Cazuo Matsumoto 3-2 (3-11, 11-8, 11-8, 8-11,11-9)
Anthony Amalraj lost to Thiago Monterio 2-3 (11-8, 7-11, 11-5, 9-11, 9-11)
Soumyajit Ghosh beat Cazuo Matsumoto 3-1 (11-6, 14-12, 11-9)
Harmeet Desai beat Hugo Calderano 3-1 (4-11, 11-5, 15-13, 11-6)
