1st Maharashtra State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, 2016, played at symbiosis Sports Centre, Pune, from 3 to 8 June, 2016. Thane players participated in 169 events. Siddhesh Pande clinch the Youth Group title by beating Shubhankar Renavikar (Pune) 11-6, 12-10, 11-6, 11-9 in straight sets. Sanish Ambekar played Semi-final in this Group.

In Youth Girls, Rutuja Khopkar was Runner up and both Semi-finalists were from thane - Mansi Deshpande and Shruti Amrute. So we had actually good opportunity to won the title as 3 out of 4 in semis were from Thane. Siddhesh was also runner up in Men's Final. This was his 2nd trophy in tournament. In Junior Girls, Shruti Amrute was runner up. In Jr. Boys, Jash Dalvi was runner up and Aniruddha Marathe was Semi-finalist. Sahil Joshi played Semi-Final of Sub-Jr. Boys group and same for Arya Songadkar in Cadet Girls. Arya played extremely good to beat Paridhi Potnis of MSD in decider game with score 20-18 in her Quarter Match.

Following players reached Quarter Final and secured Medal. Hiya Vishwanath - Midget Girls Gaurav Panchangam - Midget Boys Aryan Deshpande - Midget Boys Aadyashree Jog - Cadet Girls Kheya Shah - Sub-Jur Girls

Overall we see lots of medals for Thane players including 4 Runner-ups and 6 Semi-finalists in this tournament. Congrats to all. But we end up with only 1 Title by Siddhesh Pande. Hope to see more titles in 2nd State Ranking Tournament. Best of Luck to all players.
