" We were all on the edge of our chairs. There was a growing sense of nervous excitement.. It felt right..it felt within touching distance.. If you dared to go near the opposition camp you could breathe their anxiety & diminishing hopes.. A Dementor seemed to have passed from near them....
1 point to get us the Gold. Something that the whole Thane team was craving for.. Something we had to wait for as long as anyone can remember.. The score was 2-1 & 13-12.. Anything was possible but somehow only 1 result looked possible........
& then all our dreams were a reality.. Thane Men's team had finally won the Gold medal.. Exhilarating stuff.. We felt as if we were on top of the world. "
So why do I write this article?? To boast of our achievement? .. Well yea ok a little bit.. But the whole underlying motive behind this is to develop a feeling of pride & unity while playing for your beloved district during the upcoming State Championships.. More so for the budding young players... The matches might be spread by distance or by age-groups but you need to remember that each one of you is part of a bigger team.. A team that is fighting on multiple fronts to win multiple Golds.. So come the State Championship @ Balewadi, let it not be about your match or your age-group or your gender.. Let it be a concerted & united effort to bag as many Golds as possible..
Remember "you may play against each other in various t-shirts you have bought but this is 1 common t-shirt which you all have earned. Be proud of that "
