Sharath played Semi in Seamaster 2017 ITTF World Tour India Open
New Delhi, (19-Feb-2017)
Seamaster 2017 ITTF World Tour India Open played at Delhi from Feb 14 to Feb 19, 2017. Total 81 players participated from 18 countries. 35 players represented India consisting of 18 Men and 17 Women players. Madhurika Patkar and Siddhesh Pande were among them.


Mens Singles
Sanil Shetty, Harmeet Desai, Soumyajit Ghosh, Sharath Kamal, Amalraj Anthony reached the Main Draw.

First Round results:
Sanil beat Patrick Baum, the no.15 seed 4-2 (11-7, 11-4, 7-11, 11-8, 7-11, 11-8).
Harmeet overcame Tristan Flore of France, the no.16 seed 4-3 (11-4, 11-6, 11-9, 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 11-6).
Soumyajit lost to German Ricardo Walther, the no.12 seed in a very close match. He lost 3-4 (11-6, 9-11, 11-5,8-11, 3-11, 11-6, 11-6).
sharath, leading player of India, beat Frenchman, Can Akkuzu, in five games (11-5, 11-8, 11-4, 8-11, 11-4). Akkuzu was inform player not loosing a single game in group matches.
Japan's Koki Niwa, the no.3 seed ended the hopes of India's Amalraj Anthony (11-4, 11-5, 15-13, 11-4).
Sathiyan Gnanasekaran lost in another close match to Morizono Masataka 3-4 (9-11, 10-12, 11-7, 11-8, 11-8, 10-12, 8-11)

Second Round Results:
11th seeded Sharath beat Japan's 4th seeded Muramatsu Yuto 4-1 (11-8, 11-7, 11-4, 14-16, 11-5) to enter Quarter Final.
Harmeet lost to Niwa Koki 1-4 (16-14, 6-11, 7-11, 9-11)
Sanil lost to Gardos Robert 2-4 (9-11, 11-9, 12-10, 4-11, 7-11, 7-11)

Quarter Final:
Sharath played extremely well to beat 6th seed Drinkhall Paul 4-3 (11-4, 10-12, 9-11, 11-6, 11-9, 9-11, 13-11)

Semi Finals:
In the most important match, Sharath lost to 14th seed Harimoto Tomokazu 2-4 (7-11, 11-5, 7-11, 13-11, 9-11, 9-11). Though Harimoto was 13 year old, he played best to enter his first final.
Koki lost to Ovtcharov 3-4 (11-8, 2-11, 11-9, 10-12, 16-14, 2-11, 8-11)

Final:
Ovtcharov Dimitrij beat Harimoto Tomokazu 4-0 (11-6, 11-8, 11-4, 14-12)



Womens Singles

First Round Players:
Madhurika Patkar, Mousumi Paul, Manika Batra, Ankita Das, Suthirtha Mukherjee, Krittwika Roy, Selena Selvakumar, Amrutha Pushpak, Priyanka Pareek, Mouma Das, Sreeja Akula, Priyadarshini Das, Varadhini Calange, Archana Kamath, Ayhika Mukherjee and Mouma Dutta played first round of Women Singels.

Second Round players:
Mousumi Paul, Suthirtha Mukherjee, Mouma Das, Archana Kamath played second round.

Mousumi lost 0-4 to Doo Hol Kem
Sutirtha lost 1-4 to Jiang Huajun
Mouma lost 0-4 to NG Wing Nam
Archana lost 2-4 to Mori Sakura

Semi Final:
Ekholm Matilda beat Doo Kem 4-2 (11-8, 11-7, 5-11, 11-9, 8-11, 11-3)
Mori Sakura beat NG Wing Nam 4-3 (13-11, 12-10, 10-12, 9-11, 11-8, 9-11, 11-6)

Final:
Mori Sakura beat Ekholm Matilda 4-3 (7-11, 11-5, 11-8, 12-10, 6-11, 8-11, 11-6)

Overall, India has to put lot more efforts to impress world with Indian Players. Surely Indian TT Players will learn lot from this and will improve.
